Like many indie builders, I’m always looking for simple tools that help creators ship faster without spending hours on design work. A while ago, I came across a screenshot-mockup generator built by a talented college student. The idea was simple, practical, and incredibly useful, but I felt it had the potential to reach a much larger audience if it were made more accessible and sustainably maintained.

As someone who runs a portfolio of small, practical internet tools under A2 Ventures, I decided to acquire the boilerplate and continue building on top of it. My goal wasn’t to turn it into an expensive design suite, but to keep it lightweight, affordable, and continuously improved so creators, developers, founders, and students can generate clean, professional screenshots in seconds.

That’s how Zenshot was launched, as a refined, reliable version of a great original idea, supported with better hosting, ongoing updates, and simple pricing that keeps the tool sustainable while remaining accessible to everyone.

Zenshot is part of my long-term vision of building small, focused utilities that solve real problems on the internet, tools that are easy to use, fairly priced, and built to last.
